Northwest Savings Promotes Fisher to Executive Vice President

WARREN, Pa., April 17 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Steven G. Fisher has been promoted to Executive Vice President of Banking Services at Northwest Savings Bank. (Nasdaq: NWSB)

With his promotion, Mr. Fisher directs the activities of the Community Banking Division in addition to the Operations, Information Systems, and Business Services Divisions of the bank. With these business units combined into one management system, a higher level of integrated customer service will be possible.

Mr. Fisher joined the bank in 1983. He worked in the bank's Erie Region for eleven years as a Branch Manager, Branch Coordinator, Operations Officer, and Assistant Region Manager before his 1994 promotion to Assistant Vice President, Operations Development Department Manager. He was promoted to Vice President of the Operations Division in 2000 and, in 2002, was promoted to Senior Vice President, Operations.

Mr. Fisher created the structure for the Operations Division and originated the expansion of the bank's service and product delivery systems. He assisted with the automation of the bank's retail offices, developed the corporate Business Continuity Plan and established Northwest's Security Department.

Mr. Fisher is a graduate of West Virginia Wesleyan College, the Central Atlantic Advanced School of Banking at Bucknell University, and the Graduate School of Banking at Madison, Wisconsin. His professional affiliations are as a member of the STAR Advisory Board, the CBS Fiserve Strategic Direction Committee, and the Harland Encore Advisory Board, all of which involve working directly with financial industry product and service vendors.

Mr. Fisher will continue to serve on Northwest's Operating, Asset/Liability Management, Credit and Marketing, and Business Development Committees. He chairs the Technology End User Subcommittee and remains a member of the Compliance Committee and retains his responsibility for administering the bank's Business Continuity Plan.

Mr. Fisher and his wife, Christine, live in Erie with their children Rachael, Kresten, and Corey.
